PSD vs PDF: What Is the Difference?

PSD (Photoshop Document) is Adobe Photoshop's native format. It stores raster image data together with layers, masks, adjustment layers, text layers, smart objects, and vector paths. A single PSD file can contain dozens of composited layers that a designer works with non-destructively. The format supports color depths up to 32 bits per channel and color spaces including RGB, CMYK, Lab, and Grayscale.
