| Description | XCS is the project file of xTool Creative Space, the design and control software that drives xTool laser cutters and engravers such as the D1, M1, P2, S1 and F1. The file is a JSON package holding the whole canvas: vector paths, imported images, text and the position of every object on the work area. Along with the artwork it keeps the processing settings attached to each object - operation type (cut, score or engrave), laser power, speed, number of passes and the selected material profile - so a job can be reopened and run again exactly as it was set up. XCS is a CAD drawing format, while PDF is a fixed-layout document format that looks the same everywhere. People convert XCS to PDF to share or archive the drawing in a universal format.
